Appearance
Sites of compression:
[edit | edit source]- Cubital tunnel syndrome
- Within arcade of Struthers (hiatus in medial intermuscular septum, 8cm proximal to medial epicondyle)
- In the cubital tunnel, between Osborne's ligament (roof) and MCL (floor)
- Between the two heads of FCU/aponeurosis (most common site)
- Ulnar tunnel syndrome
- Compression in Guyon's canal
Ulnar nerve release in cubital tunnel (elbow)
[edit | edit source]- Incision over cubital tunnel, just posterior to medial epicondyle
- Identify ulnar nerve proximally - get into subcutaneous fat then identify it by palpation
- Dissection around cubital tunnel by staying directly on top of the nerve
