Majority are invasion of the trachea from carcinoma of the lung, oesophagus, larynx, or thyroid gland

Matastases are possible from breast, colon, kidney and melanoma

Malignant (most)

  • Mucoepidermoid carcinoma
  • Non-squamous cell bronchogenic carcinoma
  • Sarcoma
  • Carcinoid tumours
  • Pleomorphic adenoma
