Appearance
Risks
[edit | edit source]- Most likely in reproductive age, but can be postmenopausal
- A/w ovulation (decreased risk on COCP pill, still possible on progesterone, increased with ovulation induction)
- Vaginal intercourse
- Right ovary more common (rectosigmoid protective)
Management
[edit | edit source]- Generally conservative - observation
- Intervention if:

- Ongoing/heavy blood loss
- Infectious signs
- Findings suggestive of malignancy
- Whether managed conservatively or surgery, cyst should be followed to resolution +/- elective cystectomy
