Pleurodesis
Technique
[edit | edit source]- Three-port technique
- Identify diseased apical segment and resect with purple EndoGIA stapler (small resection is best)
- Extrapleural catheter
- Pleurodesis - use diathermy scratch pad soaked in alcoholic betadine, then use a syringe to splash in the remainder of the alcoholic betadine
- Two 28Fr chest drains
- Close in layers
Post-op

- 72 hours on suction
