Phases

PV: 75 seconds Arterial - 20-35 seconds

  • Vessels is 20 seconds for early arterial phase
  • Solid organ perfusion is late arterial phase - 35 seconds

Delayed phase - 120-180 seconds - extra-helpful in diagnosing HCC etc

Excretory phase - 8 minutes - urogram

Liver agents:

  • Primovist - gadolinium contrast, which is actively transported into hepatocytes then excreted into bile canaliculi
  • MultiHance - same thing

Pre-medication protocol Alfred

  • 12 hours beforehand 50mg prednisolone PO
  • 1 hour beforehand 50mg prednisolone PO and 10mg cetirizine
