Gastric wedge resection
Indications
[edit | edit source]- GIST local resection >2cm or symptomatic
Technique
[edit | edit source]- Localise tumour - easy if exophytic, may require scope if not
- Enter lesser sac by dissecting omentum off greater curvature (or transverse colon, if omentum is to be included in resection), until posterior stomach is visualised
- Mobilise greater curvature as much as is needed, including ligating short gastric vessels
- Staple lesion out with Endo-GIA purple or Echelon blue/gold
- Omentopexy
