Technique

  • Fill stomach with water
  • 7.5-12MHz transducer
  • Visualise stomach wall as five alternating hypoechoic and hyperechoic layers
    • Mucosa and submucosa represent first three layers
    • Muscularis propria is the fourth layer
    • Serosa is the fifth layer
