  • ATA and PTA form a major anastomotic loop between dorsal and plantar aspects
    • Dominance of inflow varies
  • ATA becomes dorsalis pedis - runs medial to EHL tendon, down to the space between first and second metatarsals
  • PTA divides into larger lateral plantar artery and smaller medial plantar branch
    • Lateral plantar artery provides main contribution to anastomotic loop
