Pathophysiology
[edit | edit source]- Usually non-secretory
- Not associated with carcinoid syndrome, even when metastatic
- Colon
- Mostly found in 70s patients being evaluated for diarrhoea, abdominal pain, anorexia, or weight loss
- Mostly right colon/caecum
- Average 5cm on diagnosis
- Rectum
- Usually asymptomatic
- Size correlates closely with the likelihood of metastases (24% of those >2cm)
- Genitourinary
