Pattern of injury
- More likely to see solid organ injury than hollow viscus
- Clinical evaluation is less reliable than with penetrating trauma
- Be somewhat less reliant on clinical findings; use CT more if possible
- An unstable patient with negative FAST may not need a laparotomy
